Hi, after several emails in June unreturned about registering for this pre conference, I have decided to post here. Hopefully I can get someone's attention.
I would really love to attend this pre conference, it seems like so many energetic youth from around the world will be discussing advocacy, research, and the politics of fighting HIV and AIDS as a united force. Starting emails to the youth@aids2006.org moderator dated June 1 2006, I have yet to receive response in finding out about my registration. I am attending the main conference and as a youth (21 senior at the University of Florida) working in the field of vaccine development at the National Institutes of Health and the FDA, I would like to network and learn from the young leaders in this field to gain more insight into my own research while gaining perspective about advocacy and prevention from those with personal experiences with AIDS.
I hope this will elicit some response to allow me to register if at all possible. I hope to hear soon, and hope to meet all of you in the very near future, god speed in your travels!

Hello Kelly, this is Alex McClelland the AIDS 2006 Youth Coordinator. My apologies for you not hearing back from the youth.aids2006.org right away. We have been getting more inquiries than we can handle, so it has taken us a lot longer than expected to get back to people.
To answer your question, the pre-conference is closed to registration. Also, it was mainly for youth from developing countries.
There are many ways for you to get engaged with other youth at the conference and network. On Sunday August 13 at 3pm in the Global Village session hall 1 there is a welcome and orientation session for all youth delegates. Also there are youth breakfast planning/networking and orientation sessions each day at 7:30 am in the Global Village session hall 2.

My name is Aziza Virani, and I was not going to be in Toronto during the time of the Conference up until yesterday. I was wondering if I can still volunteer in some form or another.
I don't mind at all what I am doing, I simply would like to be a part of the conference in some way.
